Now you have your auto responder set up, configured and imported our follow up emails in them (or written your own follow up emails) and have updated the Referral URL #17 in your Members Area with the LGT Auto responder opt in form #ID, you are ready to test if you did a good job!

HOW TO TEST YOUR AUTO RESPONDER:

Testing your auto responder is very important to make sure that your promotion efforts bring you the results you expect (and deserve!):

First, make sure that the opt in forms on your replicated squeeze pages are correctly connected to your auto responder (using your LGT responder Opt In Form #ID).

Second, make sure that your auto responder is correctly configured and sends out your follow up emails as planned and that your emails are personalized with your personal data and referral URLs.

First we will test the OPT-IN form on your SQUEEZE pages:

To test, click on one of the opt in Splash pages above to load it in your web browser.

In your web browser, fill in the form on the squeeze page with your own data (real first and last name and existing email address) to subscribe yourself to your auto responder. In this way you see how the process works and you will receive the welcome and follow up emails so you can see how they look when your prospects receive them.

What should happen is the following:

  1. After you submitted the form on the squeeze page you should be redirected automatically to a new page which informs you that your subscription was successful and that an email was sent to you with a link to click to confirm your subscription.
    If this page does not show automatically there is a mistake in the way you configured your CONFIRMATION REGUIRED REDIRECT URL or you may not have updated your members area (REFURL17) correctly with your LGT AUTORESPONDER OPTIN FORM #ID.
    Go back to the configuration instructions and check and correct this. Then test again, but you must first login to your auto responder and DELETE your registry you just made to be able to use your same email address again!

  2. Then you should receive the subscription confirmation email (check your SPAM folder as well!) and when you click the confirmation link in the email, a new page in your web browser should open which informs you that your subscription has been confirmed.
    If this page does not appear you made a mistake in the way you configured the SIGNUP SUCCESS REDIRECT URL.
    Go back to the configuration instructions and correct this and test again, but first login to your auto responder and DELETE your registry you just made to be able to use your same email address again!


  3. Once confirmed your subscription you must receive the WELCOME email which must have your personal data in it and YOUR replicated website URL!
    Your personal data were taken from your "Auto responder FROM settings" in the configuration menu.
    If the replicated website URL in the welcome email does not direct to your replicated website there is a mistake in the Custom URL Tags [MYURL1].
    Check this and correct (empty spaces before and after the URL and make sure your URL starts with http:// in the URL. After correcting, test again from the start (after you deleted your registry in your auto responder).

    In the next days you should receive the different follow up emails, each personalized with your data and links. If the welcome email was correct you can safely assume that your personal data and link are correct in the other follow emails are correct as well. Although it does not hurt to check each email when you receive it!

  4. Next, login to your auto responder and check that your name and email address are in the ACTIVE subscribers list!

    If someone did NOT (yet?) confirm the link in the confirmation email he/she will appear in the PENDING subscribers list! You will notice that several subscribers NEVER will confirm their subscription and there is little what you can do about this!

WARNING!

WE DO RECOMMEND TO NOT SEND EMAILS TO "PENDING" SUBSCRIBERS USING THEIR EMAIL ADDRESS BECAUSE YOU DO NOT HAVE THEIR PERMISSION AND THEY MAY ISSUE A SPAM COMPLAINT AGAINST YOU!

If all the testing steps above work well, your auto responder setup is correct and you can use the LGT opt in splash pages in your advertising campaigns!
